In February 2024, the Pee Dee Healthcare Coalition team participated in the esteemed South Carolina Emergency Management Association annual conference. This significant event brought together emergency management professionals across the state, providing an invaluable platform for collaboration, learning, and dialogue.

Our team engaged in workshops and panel discussions, sharing insights and best practices in emergency preparedness and response. This year’s conference also allowed us to strengthen our network with other emergency management experts and explore innovative strategies to enhance the resilience of our healthcare delivery systems.

Our attendance at the conference was not just a reaffirmation of our commitment to regional health care preparedness. It was a transformative experience that equipped us with new tools and knowledge to better serve our community. We are thrilled to implement these strategies within our coalition and continue our mission to ensure a prepared and responsive healthcare environment across the Pee Dee region.

In January 2024, members of the Pee Dee Regions participated in the Advanced HazMat Life Support Course and provided essential training for healthcare professionals on how to respond to hazardous material incidents effectively. This comprehensive course covered critical topics, including decontamination procedures, toxicology, and medical management of exposed patients. The skills and knowledge gained are vital for enhancing preparedness and ensuring the safety and health of responders and the public during HazMat emergencies.
